This tournament will not be an exception as some players are already marked for big moves, some because of their performances last season and others because of Euro outings.

Sports Brief looks at players set for big moves after Euro 2024.

Players set for big moves after Euro 2024

Giorgi Mamardashvili

Mamardashvili was on the radar of some top European clubs, including Chelsea, AC Milan, and Atletico Madrid, before the tournament. He has been impressive for Georgia at Euro 2024, which will set him up for a move away from Valencia.

Adam Wharton

According to Goal, the young Crystal Palace midfielder was attracting interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City. He was named in England’s squad for the tournament, although he is unlikely to get playing time. He only joined Palace from Blackburn in January.

Joao Neves

Portuguese teenager Neves has been a mainstay of Benfica’s squad since the start of the 2022/23 season. He was included in the Euro 2024 squad and had some minutes under his belt. According to Football365, Manchester United are eyeing him to replace Casemiro, who could leave the club. He has a release clause of €120 million.

Riccardo Calafiori

Calafiori was impressive for Bologna last season under Thiago Motta, who guided the club to a Champions League spot before the manager left for Juventus. He was brilliant for Italy in their 2-1 win over Albania but scored an unfortunate own goal in the 1-0 loss to Spain. He has a release clause of €40mil, which would not be a problem for Premier League clubs.

Federico Chiesa

Chiesa was one of the stars for Italy when Gli Azzurri won the 2020 European Championship. Unfortunately, he has struggled with injuries. He picked up where he left off at this tournament and is set for a move away from Juventus, with Manchester United interested.

Joshua Zirkzee

Zirkzee was another impressive star for Motta’s Bologna last season. He was initially overlooked for the Netherlands squad but was called to replace the injured Teun Koopmeiners. According to GiveMeSport, United are in pole position for his signature at £34mil.

Amadou Onana

Everton are reluctant to sell the midfielder, but with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules, they will be forced to consider offers. Arsenal are one of the clubs interested, and it could take around £50mil to sign the Belgian.

U23 players to watch out for at Euro 2024

Sports Brief analysed the top U23 players to watch out for at Euro 2024, including established youngsters Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and Jamal Musiala.

Musiala has been the most outstanding player on the list so far, scoring in both games against Scotland and Hungary to help Germany advance to the next round.
