Portugal striker Goncalo Ramos was left in pain after getting tackled by a security guard after Portugal’s Group F game against Turkey on Saturday, June 22.

Roberto Martinez’s side, tipped as one of the favourites to win the Euros, ran out comfortable winners on Saturday evening with a comprehensive 3-0 victory.

There were always going to be security concerns at the BVB Stadion Dortmund, particularly because one of the world's most famous athletes, Cristiano Ronaldo, was in the starting XI for Portugal.

German referee Felix Zwayer had to halt the game four times as excited fans tried to get a selfie with Ronaldo.

Fan mayhem spilt over to full-time, with Goncalo Ramos sustaining a minor injury as a result.

In a video doing rounds on social media, a security guard who was chasing a pitch invader lost his balance and accidentally tackled a startled Ramos, who winced in pain as he limped off the camera frame.

Ronaldo, who was a few yards behind Ramos, stood still as he waited for the drama to subside before making his way out of the 80,000-capacity stadium.

Portugal’s goal scorers

As reported by BBC, Portugal opened the scores through Bernardo Silva, who netted his first goal at a major tournament for his country.

Amid a dominant spell by Portugal, they received a gift of a goal in the 28th minute thanks to an unlucky moment by Samat Akaydin.

The Euro 2016 winners added a third in the second half, as Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes combined for the Manchester United midfielder to slot into an empty net.

Ronaldo and young pitch invader

Sports Brief also reported on the delightful incident between Cristiano Ronaldo and a pitch invader.

The fan, wearing a red tracksuit top, evaded security staff as he emerged from the stand behind the benches midway through the second half of the game in Dortmund and made his way towards the Portugal skipper.

Ronaldo then posed, smiling for a photo before the pitch invader ran off and tried to escape stewards, who eventually caught up with him and escorted him away to applause from the stands.
