Nico Williams’ club future is all but settled amid the youngster’s impressive form at the Euro 2024.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal. Mikel Arteta is keen on bolstering his squad to continue challenging for the Premier League.

Williams, who plies his trade in the La Liga with Athletic Bilbao , has been a revelation at the European championships, helping Spain qualify for the last 16 with two wins from La Roja’s opening two group games.

Chelsea is another Premier League club that has been mentioned in the Nico Williams rumour mill, but the young winger is set to snub any interest in remaining at the San Mamés Stadium.

In a recent interview with El Partidazo de COPE, the youngster insisted he was happy at Bilbao, saying:

"I have [been] quite clear where I want to play next season. Athletic is my home.
"I am very happy. I have told my manager that I don't want to know anything until the Euro is over."

As reported by Football London, Athletic Bilbao president also recently provided an update on Williams’ future.

"We have impressive talent in the squad," he said. "When things are like this, it's normal that there are players who arouse interest, but we're not here to talk about rumours.
"Nico is happy in Bilbao and at Athletic and we're very happy with Nico. We don't worry about or pay attention to rumours.”

One trait that makes Nico Williams appealing to Arsenal is his ability to play in several different roles.

Not only can he feature on the left and right side, but the 21-year-old can also lead the attack by playing down the middle.

In the 2023/2024 season, he was a critical member of the Bilbao squad, making 31 appearances, which yielded five goals and 14 assists. Ernesto Valverde’s side ended the campaign in fifth place and secured qualification to the Europa League.

According to Transfermarkt, Williams’ current deal at Bilbao is set to run until June 2027.

Michael Olise decides to leave Premier League

In other transfer news, Michael Olise has reportedly decided to leave Crystal Palace.

As Sports Brief reported, the Frenchman is set to join German giants Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians are in the process of a major squad rebuild and have already secured Hiroki Ito's signature after triggering his €30 million release clause.
