Reports suggest that Nasreddine Nabi is on the brink of becoming the new coach of Kaizer Chiefs.

The AS FAR Rabat coach has been linked with the job for the last few months, and he will likely take the reins in the coming weeks.

However, a former Kaizer Chiefs coach believes the club should appoint former Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane, instead.

The Tunisian tactician is still under contract with the Moroccan club but recently confirmed Amakhosi's interest.

The Glamour Boys are looking for a new coach since firing Molefi Ntseki seven months ago. They just ended their worst season in the PSL era.

They finished 10th, 37 points behind champions, Mamelodi Sundowns. The Soweto giants also ended their ninth year without a trophy.

After his successful exploits in Morocco and Tanzania, the club is said to see Nabi as the perfect man to take the club forward.

Nabi or Mosimane for Kaizer Chiefs?

Muhsin Ertugral coached Kaizer Chiefs for two spells and won trophies. He doesn't understand why the club is going for Nabi while Mosimane is available.

"I don't see the need to pay attention to a coach that Chiefs knows nothing about [Nabi] when Mosimane is unemployed and does not hide the fact that he grew up as a Chiefs fan," he said via GOAL.
"It's not that I'm talking bad about the coach identified in Chiefs, but it doesn't make sense to hire a foreigner when Mosimane is not working anywhere if you're determined to bring back the happy times."

He also listed the pros of hiring Mosimane over Nabi.

"Hiring Mosimane will reduce many problems that would come with a new coach who still has to learn a lot not only about the team but also about the league," the Turkish coach added.

When will Nabi join Kaizer Chiefs?

Sports Brief also previously reported that a new date when Kaizer Chiefs will appoint Nasreddine Nabi has been established.

The Tunisian tactician is expected to become Amakhosi's new coach on June 24 after completing the season with AS FAR Rabat.
