Neal Maupay took the opportunity to mock England after their lacklustre display against Denmark at the European Championship in Germany on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

The Three Lions were lucky to pick a point against the Danes after being second-best in most of the match following a 1-1 draw in Frankfurt.

Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane gave England an early lead but Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund responded a few minutes later as the two teams went into the break level.

The performance of England left questions on their ability to go a step further after reaching the final of the last edition three years ago.

Maupay, who is currently unattached after leaving Brentford at the end of last season, took to social media to troll England, posting a laughing meme of Ghanaian comedian Akrobeto.

He added the caption 'It is coming home' with the flag of England and the video of the Ghanaian comic.

Meanwhile, England will hope to advance to the last 16 when they face Slovenia in their final Group C game on Tuesday, June 25, as reported by Sky Sports.

Kane assures England fans of a turnaround

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Harry Kane insisted England will find the right formula for Euro 2024 success despite their lacklustre display in Thursday's 1-1 draw against Denmark.

Gareth Southgate's side would have qualified for the last 16 as Group C winners if they had defeated the Danes in Frankfurt.

England captain Kane gave them the perfect start with a clinical close-range finish from Kyle Walker's deflected cross in the 18th minute.

Gareth Southgate reacts after Denmark draw

Sports Brief also reported that Gareth Southgate acknowledged England must improve if they are to win Euro 2024 after failing to guarantee their place in the knockout stages with a 1-1 draw against Denmark on Thursday.

A point was the least the Danes deserved as England again flattered to deceive in Frankfurt after an underwhelming 1-0 win over Serbia to open their tournament.

Harry Kane had given the Three Lions an early lead as England pounced on a Danish defensive error.
