Before his expected appointment as the new head coach of Kaizer Chiefs, Nasreddine Nabi is reportedly searching for promising players to bolster Amakhosi's squad.

The Tunisian tactician has been touted to bring back glory days to Naturena when he takes up the plum job with the Soweto giants.

He already seems to be making efforts to bolster the PSL squad with a familiar face from Moroccan side AS FAR Rabat, which he currently coaches.

Nabi is famous for his tactical acumen and eye for talent, and he seems ready to make an immediate impact when he arrives at Kaizer Chiefs.

The manager is said to be engaging in consultations already as he plans to bring in players he trusts and values.

Nabi courting Botswana international

A report has indicated that Nabi is interested in Botswana international striker Tumisang Orebonye, who could be on the verge of joining Kaizer Chiefs.

Orebonye, who joined AS FAR from the Algerian side, USM Alger, during the January transfer window, is nearing the end of his contract.

He could be a free agent next month and would be available for Amakhosi. The source added, via Soccer Laduma:

"It was Nabi who initially brought Orebonye to AS FAR, and he holds him in high regard. There’s a strong possibility that Orebonye will join Chiefs on a free transfer, given his short-term contract in Morocco."

Orebonye has been lauded for his commanding presence on the field, as well as his innate ability to find the back of the net.

Many have compared the forward to Belgian striker Christian Benteke, who became famous for stints at Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace.

Kaizer Chiefs set to face Yanga SC

Sports Brief also reported that Yanga SC will face Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa for a pre-season friendly, as Amakhosi aim to rebuild after a disastrous season in the DStv Premiership.

The Tanzanian side are preparing for the 2024/25 season after a successful campaign last term, winning their third consecutive Premier League title as well as the Federation Cup.

Yanga had a relatively successful run in the CAF Champions League, making it to the quarter-final stage before losing on penalties to South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
