Germany striker, Niclas Fullkrug, has given a grim assessment of Jude Bellingham's performance so far at the 2024 UEFA European Championship.

Fullkrug, who scored in Germany's 5-1 pummelling of Scotland in the tournament's opener, claimed the Englishman had not impressed him yet.

Fullkrug unimpressed with Bellingham

Having made a cameo appearance in Die Manschaft's qualification to the next round after beating Hungary 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon, he weighed in on Bellingham's performance.

"Impressed me not," the 31-year-old responded, as cited by Euro Foot when he was quipped about the Real Madrid star's showing at the 2024 Euros.

How has Bellingham performed at Euro 2024?

Fullkrug's evaluation of the 2024 Ballon d'Or contender seems overly critical, given that he scored the match-winner and delivered a man-of-the-match performance in England's opening game against Serbia.

"Decisive offensively and defensively, covered a lot of ground, involved all through the match and scored the decisive goal," the UEFA Technical Observer panel said about the 20-year-old.

In the interim, Bellingham would hope to prove decisive for the second game in the row for the Three Lions when they take on Denmark at the Deutsche Bank Park on Thursday, June 20.

Mainoo backs Bellingham for Ballon d'Or

In a previous publication, Sports Brief reported that Manchester United youngster, Kobbie Mainoo, believes his England teammate Jude Bellingham is a well-deserved contender for the prestigious Ballon d'Or.

Bellingham concluded last season with impressive achievements, winning both La Liga and the Champions League, while scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists across all competitions.

Mainoo asserts that based on the 20-year-old's outstanding performance with Real Madrid last season and his current display at the Euros, he rightfully stands among the top candidates for the esteemed award.
