Pitso Mosimane has highlighted what he believes to be the problem at Kaizer Chiefs and has given the Soweto giants advice on how to win back trophies.

Amakhosi concluded the 2023/24 season empty-handed, extending their trophy drought of nine seasons, much to the dismay of their numerous supporters in South Africa.

According to Afrik-Foot, Mosimane has told Kaizer Chiefs to sign quality players if they wish to challenge Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns for titles.

"We are talking about Kaizer Chiefs. Do you know the history of Kaizer Chiefs? They’ve always had the best players ever.
"The best players played for Chiefs. You can’t win games if you don’t have good players. How does Manchester City turn around things, because Pep Guardiola is a magician? He’s got [Erling] Haaland and all these top players."

Kaizer Chiefs last won the PSL title in 2015, and it is still their only trophy after nine years in South Africa's top league.

Nasreddine Nabi agrees Kaizer Chiefs deal

Meanwhile, Tunisian Nasreddine Nabi has reportedly put pen to paper and agreed to become the next Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach, per IOL.

The Tunisian manager has reportedly signed with the Soweto Giants and will leave Moroccan club, AS FAR, at the end of the season to coach Amakhosi.

Kaizer Chiefs are yet to make an official announcement about Nabi’s arrival but it is widely expected they will forge ahead with the Tunisian for the 2024/25 season.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mosimane distanced himself from Kaizer Chiefs after supporters suggested that he was the only one who could improve the club's fortunes.

There have been continued calls for the Soweto giants to appoint the former Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns boss as their new coach but he disagrees with the public opinion.

Chiefs, who ended the 2023/24 DStv Premiership in 10th position, are in search of a new manager following the conclusion of their disastrous and trophyless campaign.
