Spain, Croatia, England and France are among the other top teams which have since played their first round of fixtures, alongside Portugal, who battled the Czech Republic on Tuesday night, June 18.

As such, some of the world's best players, including Kylian Mbappe, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Cristiano Ronaldo, have already made their mark in the continental showpiece.

Incredibly, Ronaldo's appearance against the Czech Republic saw him make history, with ESPN reporting that the Al Nassr superstar is now the first footballer to feature in six different Euro tournaments.

Mourinho names players he is closely watching

The Special One has now disclosed that the five-time Ballon d'Or award winner is one of three players he is keeping a close eye on.

The new Fenerbahce boss also disclosed that he is also closely watching Germany's Kroos and Croatia's Modric.

"To watch Euro with sadness? Because I believe Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Cristiano Ronaldo, it is the last Euro for them," he explained via SPORTbible.
"And I say sadness, because players like them, we don’t see very often," he added.

Meanwhile, Mourinho had previously also shared his perspective who he believes are the favourites to win the Euros.

Speaking ahead of the competition, the former Premier League boss backed his home country of Portugal to lift the trophy.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Czech Republic legend, Karel Poborsky, has controversially stated that Ronaldo is among Portugal's weakest players.

The 39-year-old, who made a historic sixth appearance at the Euros, started for the Selecao against Czechia in their opening Group F match on June 18.
