According to Opta Jose, his strike in the 65th minute made him the first teenager to score on his European Championship debut since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2004.

Arda Guler spurs Turkey to victory over Georgia

Before Arda's stunning goal, Fenerbahce defender, Mert Muldur, opened the scoring with a brilliant volley five minutes before the half-hour mark.

The 2008 semi-finalists doubled their lead just two minutes later, but the goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR review, allowing Georgia to get back into the game with an equaliser in the 32nd minute.

Second-half substitute, Kerem Akturkoglu, then sealed the win for Turkey, making it 3-1 in stoppage time after Guler's strike, Eurosport reports.

Arda Guler equals Ronaldo's Euro record

Sports Brief also previously reported that Arda Guler made European Championship history by equalling one of Cristiano Ronaldo's records in Turkey's victory over Georgia on Tuesday, June 18.

Making his debut at the Euros, the Real Madrid star scored a contender for one of the tournament's best goals and is now the youngest player ever to score a debut goal in the continental competition.
