Former Nigerian international Onyekachi Apam has been linked with the Super Eagles job as the Nigeria Football Federation continues the search for Finidi George's replacement.
OGC Nice of France's youth team coach, Apam, played for the Nigeria U20 and U23 teams and then went on to represent the nation at the senior level, making 14 international appearances.
He played for French club Nice, making 105 Ligue 1 appearances between 2006 and 2010, before joining rival team Rennes, where he struggled.
In 2014, MLS outfit Seattle Sounders FC announced the signing of the defender, but he was forced to retire following a nagging injury, as per Modern Ghana.

Since then, he ventured into management and started his coaching career on a high after he was appointed as the head coach of the OGC Nice team.
Software expert Alex Onyia has taken to social media to root for his friend who led OGC Nice's youth team to an unbeaten feat last season.
Onyia wrote:
"My friend Onyekachi Apam is the under 15 coach for OGC Nice, France. His team played unbeaten last season.
"He transitioned to coaching, and he is a well trained and licensed coach in Nice. He captained OGC Nice for 5 years as a player and also did wonders in super eagles both as a junior player and a senior player.

Football"This is the type of persons that should actually coach Nigeria National Team. He is exceptional, humble and very good both as a player and a coach.
"Before we hire another foreign coach, lets look within."
Osimhen set for NFF sanction
