Lionel Messi has all but declared his readiness for the Copa America 2024 after showing off insane bicep muscles while working out in the gym ahead of the tournament.

The multiple Ballon d'Or winner is part of the Argentina squad scheduled to take part in the continental tournament.

Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni unveiled the 26-man squad for the competition on Saturday, with Messi and Ángel Di María among the standout names.

According to ESPN, the team is similar to the one that won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with 21 of the 26 players making the squad.

Messi, who inspired Argentina to glory in 2022, will be hoping to help La Albiceleste secure the continental trophy.

And the veteran forward is doing just more than enough to ensure he stays in top shape ahead of the competition.

The 36-year-old recently took to his Instagram to show off his insane bicep muscles as he worked in the gym ahead of Argentina's opening game against Canada.

Goal reports that the Copa America tournament comes at a time when the former Barcelona star is enjoying a fine run of form.

Recently, he bagged a brace for his country as they completed their warm-up schedule with a resounding 4-1 win over Guatemala.

The Barcelona legend is the South American country's all-time goalscorer, with 108 goals to his name in 182 appearances.
