Didier Deschamps has given an update on Kylian Mbappe's injury, which occurred during France's win over Austria in their opening game in the 2024 UEFA European Championship.
The newly signed Real Madrid player was involved in the game's only goal after Maximilian Wober turned the French captain's cross into his net in the 38th minute.
A good game for the former Paris Saint-Germain star ended in a sad way, as he got injured late in the game while trying to contest the ball with RC Lens defender, Kevin Danso.
According to a report by BBC Sports, Deschamps confirmed that Mbappe broke his nose in the process and would reportedly undergo surgery in Germany.

"Yes, Kylian Mbappe has probably broken his nose, and apparently, the nose is not good at all," he said.
"So we'll see. It's obviously the negative point of the evening. Even if it's just his nose, it's annoying for us."
Mbappe is arguably France's most important player in this tournament, and he would be a big miss if he's not fit for their next game against the Netherlands.
Mbappe produces miss of the tournament contender
Sports Brief earlier reported on Mbappe producing an early miss of the tournament contender in France's 1-0 win over Austria in their opening group game in Euro 2024.
Mbappe picked an excellent long pass from Adrien Rabiot after out-pacing his markers and was left with only goalkeeper Patrick Pentz to beat but the former Monaco star fired wide.
The 25-year-old is still without a goal in the European championship, which makes the miss against Ralf Ragnick's side a big disappointment for him.
