McGregor's advise to Kaizer Chiefs
McGregor highlighted Sundowns' structure, where everyone has their role, enabling the team to function smoothly. He called on Chiefs to learn from the league champions.
“I always say this: ‘have a look at Sundowns; look at how Sundowns is run’,” he said per iDiski Times. It’s run as an entity; it’s run as a professional outfit where you’ve got a president, and the guys answer to the president. Chiefs, they don’t do that."
The Amakhosi legend faulted the club's recruitment strategy, saying the club has to spend money wisely.
“They [Sundowns] first look at a player and make sure he’s the right player for the club before they sign him. Chiefs don’t do that, and as soon as guys learn that that’s the way to go, the better. Yes, they’ve got lots of money, but they spend money [wisely], and you know what? Chiefs have spent so much money in the last year or two and what have they got? Nothing.”
