According to the Daily Post, Lazio and Hatayspor have agreed on a €7 million transfer fee for Dele-Bashiru, who is set to undergo medicals at the Italian club before signing his contract.

The 22-year-old, who can play in multiple positions in the midfield, only arrived at the Turkish club on a free transfer last summer after severing his ties with Sheffield Wednesday.

Dele-Bashiru will join fellow Super Eagles teammates Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and goalkeeper Maduka Okoye in the Italian top flight next season when the deal is finalised.

Dele-Bashiru is Nigeria’s next superstar

Meanwhile, Dele-Bashiru enjoyed an eventful debut season in the Turkish Super Lig and is touted to be the next big superstar for the Super Eagles after making his debut, Score Nigeria reports.

The 22-year-old midfielder scored Nigeria’s equaliser against South Africa in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in his first appearance for the three-time African champions earlier this month.

Dele-Bashiru is expected to become a mainstay in the current Super Eagles set-up and is anticipated to assist Alex Iwobi as another creative force in the Nigerian midfield in the near future.

Dele-Bashiru shines in World Cup qualifier

Sports Brief also previously reported that Nigeria began the Finidi George era with a lackluster draw against South Africa, with Dele-Bashiru the only shining light for them.

The crunch game lit up in the 29th minute when forward, Themba Zwane, capitalised on some poor defending from the Nigerian backline to set Hugo Broos’ charges ahead.

The game took another twist at the start of the second half, as the South African team caved in under pressure and conceded an equaliser from Hatayspor star, Dele-Bashiru.
