In the 30th minute, Ukraine were caught in their own final third as they tried to break their opponent's press.
A misplaced pass was stolen by Tricolorii, who teed up Stanciu, who hit the ball the first time. It flew past Andriy Lunin into the top corner. The game ended 1-0 after halftime.
In the second half, the Real Madrid goalkeeper was at fault for Romania's second goal as he allowed Razvan Marin's shot to creep underneath his body in the 53rd minute.
Four minutes later, Romania secured three points when Denis Dragus tapped in Dennis Man's cross. It is the first time Romania have scored three times since 2000, when they infamously beat England 3-2, per Opta Analyst.
