Didier Deschamps’ decision to recall N'Golo Kante back to the France national team squad for the 2024 European Championship is already causing problems for a teammate.

Kante last played for France in March 2023 in a UEFA Nations League 2-1 home loss to Denmark before having a series of injuries in his final season at Chelsea.

According to Mirror UK, France’s Euro 2024 was announced with no need for preliminaries. He was recalled despite now playing in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ittihad, and it has not taken long to prove to his teammates who he is.

Thuram makes ‘horrible’ remark about Kante

The squad trained at their national team base in Claire Fontaine and played two friendly games against Luxembourg and Canada before they travelled to Germany.

Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram, speaking at a press conference via Metro UK, was full of praise for the veteran midfielder, admitting he makes it easier to win.

“I have the impression that there were three of him at Clairefontaine. I have never seen anything like it, it’s horrible, it’s horrible, we can’t play anymore, we can’t play in training anymore. As soon as we have him on our team, we know we have won,” he said.

“But more seriously, N’Golo is incredible, and I think that in one week, he reminded us why he was one of the best midfielders in the world. I think we are very happy to have him with us.”
