It is the eighth title for the Flying Antelopes, who are now one behind Enyimba. Remo Stars lost 2-1 to Sunshine Stars, while Sporting Lagos beat Enyimba by the same scoreline, per Channels TV.

Rangers had the advantage before Sunday's matches, and defeat for the two teams handed them their first league title for the first time since 2016.

It has been a chaotic end to the 2023/24 NPFL season. Rangers were awarded a 3-0 win in their clash against Enyimba last Sunday following a violent end to the encounter which was beamed live on StarTimes.

Rangers will represent Nigeria at the 2024/25 CAF Champions League. Remo Stars and Enyimba will battle for second place on the final day.

Enugu Rangers vs Enyimba abandoned

Sports Brief earlier reported that the Oriental Derby between Enugu Rangers and Enyimba was abandoned after a chaotic end.

Enyimba players walked off the pitch in the final stages after the hosts were awarded a penalty. All hell broke loose when the referee placed the ball on the penalty spot.

Fans stormed the pitch, forcing players and officials to run for cover. Rangers were later awarded a 3-0 win, while Enyimba were fined ₦10m.

Enugu Rangers perform 'Siuu'

Sports Brief also previously reported on Enugu Rangers players hitting Cristiano Ronaldo's famous 'Siuu' celebration in their match against Remo Stars.
