Chelsea football club of England have confirmed the signing of former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The 24-year-old was unveiled on Friday, July 21, as the Blues edged Manchester United to land the Spaniard.
Morata is a regular for the Spanish national team, scoring nine goals in his 20 appearances for his country including three Euro 2016 won by Portugal.
There were reports that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was furious to lose their main target Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United, but he claimed Morata was his first choice.
"It is very important, the choice. Morata, for sure, is our first choice," said the 47-year-old head coach, who signed an improved contract with Chelsea this week.
"He is a good player, the right prospect for Chelsea and hopes to show his value with us.
"I think for sure this is a good signing for us, he is a young player but has a lot of experience, he went to Juventus and Real Madrid. He has a lot of experience and I think this is a good signing for us.
