Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly close to appointing Nasreddine Nabi as their new permanent coach after the Tunisian tactician led AS FAR to a second-place finish in the Botola Pro League.

The former AC Leopards coach is seen as the better option than other candidates, Pitso Mosimane, Jose Peseiro, Benni McCarthy, and Alexandre Santos.

The Glamour Boys missed out on nabbing the Tunisian coach last year before opting for Molefi Ntseki, who was later sacked after four months.

The Soweto giants failed to agree with Nabi's demand to bring his backroom staff and also wanted to know the club's long-term plan.

According to a report by the South African, Nabi has agreed to leave AS FAR after failing to lead the club to the league title.

Nabi has also reportedly agreed to join Kaizer Chiefs after the Premier Soccer League side reached an agreement on a competition fee with the Moroccan giants.

"Tunisian Nasr Al-Din Al-Nabi leaves the Royal Moroccan Army Club at the end of the season after agreeing with the South African team, Kaizer Chiefs," BeIN SPORTS confirmed on X.

Nabi demands to Kaizer Chiefs

Sports Brief previously reported that Nabi was said to have given Kaizer Chiefs demands before both parties could strike a deal with the club.

The former Yanga SC manager's first demand was reportedly to know the club's project and, second, to bring in his backroom staff.

Four issues facing Kaizer Chiefs

Sports Brief also reported on former Kaizer Chiefs defender, David Kannemeyer, who identified four problems that have affected Amakhosi in the last few years.

The ex-defender faulted the club's planning, culture, philosophy, and scouting and called for a thorough clean-up if the PSL giants were to recapture any glory.
