Kaizer Chief's top target for the coaching role, Nasreddine Nabi, had a heartbreaking end to the season after his team, AS FAR, lost the Moroccan Botola Pro League.

Raja defeated MC Oujda to secure the title with 72 points, while AS FAR ended the season with 71 points, a painful end after leading for most of the campaign.

Nabi have been heavily linked with the Amakhosi coaching role and is reportedly the favourite to take the reins at Naturena.

After leading Young Africans to two Tanzanian Premier League titles, Nabi was looking to secure another silverware, but his team fell short.

Nabi's AS FAR ended the season with 22 wins, five draws, and three defeats, while champions Raja won the Botola Pro League undefeated. His team finished the season with the most goals (63).

According to SABC Sport, Nabi is the frontrunner for the Kaizer Chiefs coaching role. The report adds that Amakhosi were waiting for the Botola Pro League to end to finalise a deal with the Tunisian.

The Glamour Boys will have to compensate the Moroccan side since Nabi is contracted until 2025. After years of underachievement, the Soweto giants are looking to hire a coach to rejuvenate the team.

Nabi demands to Kaizer Chiefs

Sports Brief earlier reported that Nabi reportedly gave Kaizer Chiefs demands before both parties can strike a deal.

The Tunisian's first demand was reportedly to know the club's project and, second, to bring in his backroom staff.

Nabi given greenlight to leave AS FAR

Sports Brief also previously reported that AS Far had green-lit Nabi's departure when the season ended.

Nabi was close to joining Kaizer Chiefs last year, but there was one major hurdle during talks.
