Germany football legend, Bastian Schweinsteiger, has made his prediction for the Euro 2024.

The continental showpiece is getting underway in Germany, with the hosts scheduled to take on Scotland in the opening fixture on Friday evening, June 14.

Twenty-four countries, including Europe's biggest football powerhouses, are participating in the much-anticipated tournament.

The teams include Italy, the reigning champions, who lifted the tournament three years ago when they beat England in the final at Wembley Stadium.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal, who won the trophy in 2016, and France, the 2018 World Cup champions, are also eyeing glory in Germany.

Schweinsteiger predicts Euro 2024 winners

Former Bayern Munich and Manchester United midfielder Scheinsteiger has now predicted who will win the Germany edition of the tournament.

Quizzed on X by @Euro2024DE on who stands the best chance to conquer Europe, the ex-Germany international snubbed his own country and backed France to be crowned champions.

Les Bleus stand a better chance of winning the trophy, thanks to the depth of their squad, which boasts some of the world's best players.

The team, which is home to the likes of William Saliba, Ibrahima Konate, Jules Kounde, and youngsters Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, will be skippered by new Real Madrid ace, Kylian Mbappe.

Sportskeeda reports that the Didier Deschamps-tutored side are in Group D of the competition along with the Netherlands, Poland, and Austria.

Italy boss sets tough Euro rules for players

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Italy boss, Luciano Spalletti, has set four strict rules for his players to follow during Euro 2024.

Italy will be seeking to defend the Euro crown ahead of the 2024 edition of the continental tournament in Germany, having lifted the title three years ago at Wembley Stadium.
