Manchester United have seemingly stepped up their summer transfer business after reportedly agreeing terms for their first signing.

Erik ten Hag's charges could only manage an eighth-place finish with a paltry 60 points.

The club's disappointing campaign sparked fears Ten Hag could be shown the door and a replacement made.

However, SPORTbible reports that the United hierarchy has since decided against getting rid of the Dutchman, at least in the interim.

Man United agree deal to sign Branthwaite

With Ten Hag's future all but sorted, the Manchester club have embarked on stepping up their transfer plans for the summer.

The Times reports that the Old Trafford dwellers have since agreed personal terms with Jarrad Branthwaite, with the youngster likely to become their first signing.

According to the publication, the FA Cup champions are prepared to pay the 21-year-old weekly wages in the region of £150,000 and £160,000.

The development comes at a time when the Carlisle United youth product was controversially left out of the England squad for Euro 2024.

Be that as it may, the Everton star remains a man in demand and is expected to fetch a fee of around £70 million.

Garnacho reacts to Ten Hag news

Earlier, Sports Brief also reported on Alejandro Garnacho becoming the first Manchester United star to react to news on the club reportedly deciding against sacking Ten Hag.

With other Man United stars mute on the latest development, the Argentine ace wasted no time making clear his feelings on the latest development at Old Trafford.
