In 1989, the event hosts, West Germany defeated Norway 4-1. Only four teams participated in the championship for the first 13 years of the tournament.

1991 - Germany

In 1991, Germany made it to the Women's Football Euro Cup winners list for the second time. The players defeated Norway 3-1 after extra time in a final match in Denmark.

1993 - Norway
