Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly planning to release three of their highest-paid players this summer, with Keagan Dolly being one of them.

The Soweto giants had a poor season in the DStv Premiership. They finished 10th and missed out on the MTN8 competition for the 2024-25 season.

The Glamour Boys are trying to balance their books before new players join the squad, which means some of the top earners will have to leave in this transfer window.

According to a report by the South African, Dolly, alongside Itumeleng Khune and Zitha Kwinika, could leave Amakhosi as the club prepares for a massive clearout this summer.

Dolly, Khune, and Kwinika earn a whopping R2.25 million every month, but the club is not getting the value of their pay in quality from the three players.

Dolly's frequent injury problems are not helping his quest to earn a new contract from Kaizer Chiefs. He's attracting interest from two Premier Soccer League sides, AmaZulu FC and Cape Town City, but he could have issues with his wage demand, as he currently earns R17.5m annually at Naturena.

The club bid Khune farewell at the end of the season, but the legendary South African goalkeeper still wants to continue playing and has been linked with a PSL move this summer.

Kwinika has been relegated to the bench since a strong centre-back pairing of Given Msimango and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe emerged.

Kwinika staying on the bench despite earning so much won't be a good option for the Glamour Boys.

Chiefs to offload nine players this summer

Sports Brief earlier reported on Kaizer Chiefs' intention to offload nine players from their squad this summer.

The Soweto giants are preparing for a squad overhaul after having a poor campaign in the South African league.
