The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reportedly confirmed it will appoint a foreign technical adviser for the Super Eagles after their poor run of results in the World Cup qualifiers.
Finidi George failed to guide Nigeria to a win in their last two qualifier games, drawing against South Africa on June 7 and then losing to the Benin Republic in Ivory Coast on June 10.
As things stand presently, the Super Eagles still have six more games to go in the qualifying series but remain four points behind Group C leaders, Rwanda, South Africa, and Benin.
According to a report by Complete Sports, the NFF released a statement indicating they had decided to appoint a technical adviser for the Super Eagles, during their executive committee meeting on Wednesday.

In the meeting, the Nigerian football governing body was said to have concluded that a person should be brought in to help Finidi following to the team's poor performance against Bafana Bafana and the Cheetahs.
"The executive committee resolved to employ an expatriate Technical Adviser for the Super Eagles in the coming weeks, ahead of the AFCON qualifiers and the remaining FIFA World Cup qualifying matches," the reported statement reads.
Nigeria's next 2026 World Cup qualifier game will be against Rwanda in March next year.
