Euro 2024 kicks off tomorrow as 24 countries battle for the right to succeed Italy as the new champions, with host nation, Germany, playing against Scotland in the opening game.

Some of the best European stars, mostly playing in the top leagues, are in the competition, while some good numbers ply their trade in Saudi Arabia and are led by Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to Transfermarkt, Real Madrid stars, Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe, are the top two most valuable players in the tournament with a €180 million market value each.

Ronaldo, who is inarguably the biggest European star of all time, does not even feature in the top 200 as his market value has declined massively over the years and stands at €15mil.

Sports Brief analyses the top five most valuable players at Euro 2024 in Germany.

Most valuable players at Euro 2024

1. Kylian Mbappe

Mbappe is seen as the biggest football star after Lionel Messi and Ronaldo and is expected to be the face of football for the next generation. He recently joined Real Madrid on a free transfer, but his market value is €180mil. In an interview with CNN, he shared his ambition to win the Euros as the French national team captain.

2. Jude Bellingham

Bellingham's stocks have risen since he switched to Madrid from Borussia Dortmund for €103mil. He won the La Liga and Champions League double in his first season. He is a contender for the 2024 Ballon d'Or. He has a market value of €180mil.

3. Phil Foden

England and Manchester City's golden boy, Foden, has the third highest value at the European Championship at €150mil. He's heading into Euro 2024 off the back of the record-breaking Premier League season with City, where he was named the league's player of the year.

4. Bukayo Saka

The third English player on the list, Saka, has a market value of €140mil. He was the recipient of England's Player of the Year prize in the last two years. He will want redemption this year after missing the decisive penalty that handed Italy the trophy at the previous tournament.

5. Florian Wirtz

Bundesliga player of the season, Wirtz, is the most valuable German player at the tournament on home soil with a value of €130mil. He will aim to cap off winning Bayer Leverkusen's first title with a win at the tournament in his home country.

U23 players to look out for at Euro 2024

Sports Brief also analysed the U23 players to watch at Euro 2024 ahead of the tournament to be held in Germany, featuring stars who are already world-class.

Bellingham, Saka, and Wirtz were featured on the list despite the German midfielder being the only one who had never featured for his nation at a major tournament.
