Kaizer Chiefs are currently searching for a new manager after a disastrous 2023-24 season in the Premier Soccer League, as they extended their trophyless campaign to nine.
The Soweto giants have struggled under different managers in the last 10 years and are seeking redemption in the 2024-25 season under a new gaffer.
Sports Brief takes a look at seven coaches who failed during their time with Amakhosi.

1. Stuart Baxter

The English manager made the list due to his poor performance at the club in his second spell between 2021-2022.
The former Bafana Bafana coach had a successful time with the Glamour Boys in his first spell between 2012 and 2015. He won the Premier Soccer League twice, alongside the Nedbank Cup and the MTN8.
The second spell was a disaster despite leading the club to their first-ever CAF Champions League final. The Soweto Giants lost the final 3-0 to Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly, and most Red Devils players rated it the easiest final they've played.
In 26 games as the team's manager, Baxter won 11 matches, drew six, and lost 9, for a win ratio of 42.31%.
The former England under-19 coach ended the season trophyless despite having top players in his ranks.

Football2. Steve Komphela
The South African tactician was brought in as a replacement for Baxter but failed to deliver the league title for the Glamour Boys.
He showed little progress in his second season but ended his time with the club the following year without winning any significant silverware.
3. Gavin Hunt
The SuperSport United manager replaced Ernst Middendorp in 2020, but he couldn't finish the season as the club management decided to sack him after a string of poor results.
The South African coach had two wins from 17 games in the PSL during that period.
4. Molefi Ntseki
The former South Africa national team coach was the last permanent manager on the job but was sacked four months after he was appointed for the role.
The club's former Head of Technical and Youth Development Academy lost six out of 11 matches he was in charge of and was replaced by Cavin Johnson on an interim basis.

Football5. Cavin Johnson
Johnson was also called up from the academy and came in with high hopes of steadying the ship. The former Al Ahly assistant coach failed woefully and led Amakhosi to their worst-ever finish in PSL history.
Chiefs finished 10th in the DStv Premiership despite meeting the team in a much-respected position before he took over the job.
6. Giovanni Solinas
Solinas was given the task of bringing back the glory days at Chiefs after Komphela resigned in 2018, but the Italian manager lasted only six months due to a poor run of form.
7. Ernst Middendorp
Middendorp would be credited for getting Kaizer Chiefs act together after their unsuccessful run under Komphela and Solinas, but his excellent work was tarnished by losing the PSL title to Mamelodi Sundowns despite leading the league table with a whopping 13 points.
Amakhosi finished that season in second and could not win a silverware under the German mentor.

FootballNabi gives Kaizer Chiefs two demands
Sports Brief earlier reported that Nasreddine Nabi reportedly gave two demands to Kaizer Chiefs before he could agree to a deal with the club.
His first demand was a clear picture of the project, and his second was to have his own backroom staff.
