Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, has applauded forward Jordan Ayew after his hat-trick inspired Ghana to a thrilling victory over the Central African Republic.

Ghana edged the Wild Beast 4-3 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024, to go top of Group I of the World Cup qualifiers in Africa.

Ayew, who netted the winner in Bamako last week against Mali, starred once again for the Black Stars, scoring four goals in the two matches in June.

After the game, Addo lavished praise on the forward while analysing the different situations in the encounter in Kumasi.

“For me, it’s very, very important to have different options. Sometimes you need a striker like Jordan (Ayew) who can hold the ball or somebody who goes one against one like Kudus, or sometimes you have a more defensive structure for the game,” he said in his post-match presser, as quoted by Pulse.
“It depends on who we are playing and so for me, it’s very, very decisive to see the options to score goals and also the best option how to defend and based on that plus the training, plus the games they played for their teams decides who will play but it has to fit with the opponent we have and this is very, very important for me and I was happy that the players who came in made an impact," he added.

Ayew was making his 101st appearance for the national team against the Central African Republic, crowning his newest milestone with a magnificent performance, per Transfermarkt.

The Crystal Palace attacker was presented with a golden boot for reaching 100 games for Ghana.

Ayew nets hat-trick in CAR win

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Jordan Ayew scored a hat-trick to boost Ghana's 2026 World Cup qualification hopes as the team recovered from 2-1 to beat the Central African Republic 4-3 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Louis Mafouta's first-half brace handed the Black Stars a scare before the break but a strong display from Ghana in the second-half earned them a deserved victory.

In a quick start to the game, the Black Stars made their early pressure count after Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu Issahku drew a foul in the box and the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty.
