Manchester City youngster, Julian Alvarez, has clarified his future at the club following reports that he wants to leave this summer.

The Argentine has enjoyed a successful two-year stint with the Citizens and played a key part in the club's record-breaking 2023/24 campaign.

According to Metro UK, Alvarez scored an impressive 17 goals to help City make history by winning the Premier League title for the fourth consecutive season.

Despite forming a key part of Pep Guardiola's team, reports claim that Alvarez is unhappy with his role at the Etihad.

The youngster is said to be desperate for first-team football, as he is currently playing second fiddle to Erling Haaland.

Alvarez clarifies Man City future

The Argentina international's situation at Man City has sparked speculation he could depart in the summer, with Chelsea among the clubs he has been linked with.

A move to Paris Saint-Germain to replace Kylian Mbappe, who moved to Real Madrid, has also been mooted.

However, the 24-year-old has come out to set the record straight on what the future holds for him at the Etihad.

Speaking to SportsCenter, Alvarez remained coy about staying at Man City but insisted he is happy at the club.

"A lot is being said about my future but I’m calm. I’m comfortable and happy at Manchester City. We’ll see what happens," he said.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Lionel Messi showing class to Ecuador and Chelsea youngster, Kendry Paez, during a friendly match between South American countries Argentina and Ecuador.

The world champions stepped up their preparations to defend their Copa America title with a 1-0 win on June 9, with another game against Guatemala still to come.
