While many local stars have been linked with the club, a few foreigners have also been mentioned.

As noted by Afrik-Foot, a Malawian international is also on the radar of the radar of the Amakhosi.

Chiefs chase Malawian international

According to reports, the Glamour Boys have been keeping tabs on Chawanangwa Kaonga.

The midfielder currently plays in the Zambian Super League with Zanaco FC but once played in South Africa.

Transfermarkt noted that between January 2020 and October 2021, the 29-year-old played for TS Sporting in the second tier of South African football.

The side currently compete in the GladAfrica Championship.

Why Kaonga is sought after

While his stint in South Africa didn’t lead to him signing for a bigger side locally, his performances for the Malawian national team have caught the eye of many.

Kaonga was part of the side that finished fourth in the 2023 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup and was named the Player of the Tournament. He was also included in the tournament’s Best XI.

While often used as a midfielder, the Malawian international can also play as a second striker.

With Chiefs struggling for goals last season, a player who can create and score will be a big boost for the side.

Chiefs linked with five attackers

Sports Brief recently reported that Chiefs were looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season.

With Nasreddine Nabi rumoured to be the new coach, the Soweto-based side are looking to bring in new stars.

The Amakhosi have been linked with five attackers, including Bafana and Stellenbosch FC striker, Iqraam Rayners.
