In a video shared on social media by Brila.net, the 28-year-old reflected on encountering the coach of the Benin Republic side, Gernot Rohr, and shared his and his teammates' approach to the upcoming clash.

"We bumped into Gernot Rohr, nice seeing him and his staff. They look well, but Monday is war," Iwobi remarked.
Iwobi emerged as a key player for the Nigerian team under the leadership of the Franco-German tactician, who managed the Super Eagles for over five years, from 2016 to 2021. The Fulham midfielder has since amassed over 75 appearances for the Super Eagles.
According to data from Fotmob, the Nigerian team has secured victories in their last two encounters against Benin Republic. Both teams are scheduled to face off at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Ivory Coast on June 10.
