The Saudi Pro League will have a good amount of representation at the Euro 2024 championship which begins on Friday, June 14, 2024, in Germany.

With several big-name stars making the move to the Gulf Nation last summer, there was scepticism over their future in top-level football.

However, the just-ended Saudi Pro League campaign produced one of the most competitive campaigns, drawing several eyeballs across the globe.

Al-Hilal emerged champions, inspired by the Serbian duo of Aleksander Mitrovic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic while five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo ended the season as top-scorer.

Sports Brief looks at the 15 players from the Saudi Pro League set to compete at the 2024 Euros.

Aleksander Mitrovic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ruben Neves - Al Hilal

As stated earlier, Serbia will be represented by Mitrovic and Milinkovic Savic of Al-Hilal. The duo formed an integral part of the Saudi Pro League winning team as the Blue Waves ended the season without tasting defeat in the league. They also won the Saudi King's Cup after beating Al-Nassr on penalties in the final.

Also making the Euro squad is midfielder Ruben Neves of Portugal.

Mitrovic scored 28 goals in 28 matches in the Saudi Pro League, per Transfermarkt while Milinkovic-Savic netted 11 goals and delivered 12 assists.

Andrei Burca and Solomon Kvirkveli - Al Okhdood

Surprisingly, Al Okhdood had two players from their squad at the Euro 2024, representing two countries. Romania selected Andrei Burca Georgia including Kvirkveli to their final squad. The duo played a pivotal role as Okhdood survived the drop on the final day of the Saudi Pro League season.

Georginio Wijnaldum and Jack Hendry - Al Ettifaq

Wijnaldum is no stranger to big tournaments, having represented the Netherlands at several competitions and the European championship could be his last in the Orange jersey. Scotland also boosted their squad with the inclusion of defender Jack Hendry. While Wijnaldum came off a long-term injury to make 29 appearances for Steven Gerrard's men, Hendry featured in 34 matches as Ettifaq ended the campaign in sixth place.

Ronaldo, Marcel Brozovic and Aymeric Laporte-Al Nassr

The Knights of Najd are fairly represented at the Euros with three players from their squad participating at the championship. Cristiano Ronaldo will lead Portugal while Brozovic and Laporte feature for Croatia and Spain respectively. Interestingly, Brozovic will face Laporte in the group stage of the competition when Croatia meets Spain.

The three players were phenomenal for Al-Nassr as they finished second in the league and were also runners-up in the King's Cup.

Merih Demiral - Al Ahli

Experienced defender Merih Demiral will be an important player for the Turkish team at the tournament. He is the only player from Al-Ahli in the squad. He featured prominently as the Green Eagles finished the season in third place.

Nicolae Stanciu - Damac

The Romanian midfielder is the sole representative of Damac at the tournament. He is expected to star for the Eastern Europeans in Germany.

N'Golo Kante - Al Ittihad

Completing the list is former Chelsea midfielder Kante. The hardworking midfielder was recalled into the French team after an almost two-year absence. His return will be a huge boost for Les Blues following his role in their World Cup-winning feat in Russia in 2018. He helped Al-Ittihad finish the campaign in fifth place.

Al Nassr celebrates Cristiano Ronaldo

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Saudi giants, Al Nassr sent Cristiano Ronaldo a special message after the veteran forward won a prestigious award.

The former Manchester United attacker has been in flawless form for Al Nassr this season, with his incredible performances helping the club seal a second-place finish in the standings behind Al-Hilal.

According to Sportskeeda, Ronaldo recently made history by becoming the highest goal-scorer in a single season in the Saudi Pro League.
