Nigeria have been faced with many injury issues, with Victor Osimhen and William Troost-Ekong both affected.

In an interview ahead of the game, as per Soccernet, Finidi had positive news about Samuel Chukwueze and Chigozie Awaziem's availability after battling with fitness ahead of the tie.

"Chukwueze had a knock, Awaziem had a stomach problem, but all players are fit and ready to go," the new Super Eagles boss commented.
"We have trained well, and the players understand the task. I trust my players and their quality. It's a must-win game."

The former Enyimba FC coach also reiterated that he was feeling relaxed ahead of the game and wanted to win the tie against Bafana Bafana.

"I don't have anything to prove. I am relaxed, it is football. I want to win, and I understand the tasks. I am not scared. I played to the highest, and we are going for a win tomorrow," he added.

Finidi backed for success as Nigeria coach

Sports Brief previously reported that former Nigeria international, Oladimeji Lawal backed Finidi George to live up to the expectations as coach of the Super Eagles.

After his appointment by the Nigeria Football Federation last month, the 53-year-old was officially unveiled to take the helm of the Nigerian national team last month.
