Chelsea forward, Romelu Lukaku, has openly expressed interest in playing for one of his former clubs and revealed a move could happen ‘sooner than people think’.
The Belgian striker was re-signed by the Blues for a mammoth £97.5 million in 2021 after a successful stint in Italy with Inter Milan.
His second spell at Stamford Bridge proved underwhelming, prompting the club to cut their losses and ship him back to San Siro on loan a year later.
The Belgian forward still faces an uncertain future at Chelsea despite his latest loan spell with AS Roma coming to an end.

Lukaku’s comments about his future
While it is unclear where Lukaku will play next season, the former Manchester United man is sure he will play for his former club, Anderlecht, very soon.
Speaking to RTL Sports, the striker admitted he missed his family back in his native Belgium, which he left when he was 18.
"Of course. That [a return to Anderlecht] will happen. That will happen, I think, much sooner than people think," he said.
The former West Bromwich Albion man joined Anderlecht as a teenager in 2006, aged just 13, and spent three years at the club, climbing up the youth ranks.
His senior debut came in 2009, and per Transfermarkt, he scored 41 goals and got 17 assists in 98 appearances for the Belgian club before moving to Chelsea as a promising youngster in 2011.
