Relebohile Mofokeng is earning high praise for his performances this season, and rightly so.

The 19-year-old was the talk of the town after his spectacular late goal saw Orlando Pirates beat Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup final.

Following his performance in the final, former Pirates star Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi, has heaped massive praise on the youngster.

Mofokeng compared to Ronaldo

iDiskiTimes reported that Vilakazi compared the teenage sensation to Brazilian superstar Luís Nazário de Lima, the phenomenon known to the world as Ronaldo.

Tso added that Mofokeng reminded him of the Real Madrid forward because of his bravery in the box.

“As soon as that ball got to him, I knew something would happen. I knew because he is not afraid of anything.”

As the Buccaneers leading all-time scorer, the former attacking midfielder knows a thing or two about finishing and raved about Mofokeng’s finish.

“That’s top class. You know top players like Ronaldo of Brazil, they didn’t care when they were in that position, if he is there and if it needs a toe, put that toe in.”

Vilakazi, who made 170 appearances for the Sea Robbers, is not the only former Pirates player impressed with the 19-year-old this season.

Solomon Mathe also praised the youngster and added that it was time he moved to Europe, GOAL Reported. Mofokeng has been linked with Glasgow Rangers in Scotland and Austria's Red Bull Salzburg.

He was also included in Hugo Broos' squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Pirates coach left speechless by Mofokeng

Sports Brief previously reported how Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro was left speechless by Mofokeng.

The youngster scored late for the Buccaneers to hand them a 2-1 win over Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup final.

Speaking after the game, Riveiro was overcome with emotion as he reflected on the 19-year-old’s performance.
