Bayern Munich sensation, Jamal Musiala, has shared his perspective on who should win the 2024 Ballon d'Or between Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.

The aforementioned duo have emerged as the frontrunners for this year's coveted individual football prize after their impressive performances for Real Madrid in the 2023–24 season.

Both Real Madrid stars combined to score Los Blancos' second goal in their 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley, sealing an unprecedented 15th UEFA Champions League.

Who deserves the 2024 Ballon d'Or: Bellingham or Vinicius?

Bellingham, 20, took to his new surroundings at Real Madrid like a duck to water. Not only did he score frequently, but he also netted hugely important goals, too.

Although his goals dried up in early 2024, largely due to nagging injuries, the Englishman still finished strongly, completing the campaign with 23 goals and 13 assists across 42 games in all competitions, per Transfermarkt.

Vini Jr., on the other hand, began the season on a stuttering note, but after shaking off the injury setbacks, the Brazilian did not look back, forming a lethal partnership with Bellingham and Rodrygo.

He was particularly outstanding in Real Madrid's buildup to another European glory and crowned it all with the second decisive goal to seal the victory over Dortmund in the final.

Bellingham vs Vini: Musiala discusses Ballon d'Or

Though club games in Europe are now over for another season, and international competitions are set to kick off in the coming days, the race for the Ballon d'Or continues to be intense.

Sharing his opinion on who merits to be crowned the best footballer in the world, Musiala suggested it would be a straight fight between Bellingham and Vinicius.

"Bellingham’s chances of winning the Ballon d’Or? I think it’s between him and Viní Jr," the 21-year-old Germany international said, as quoted by MadridXtra.

Ancelotti backs Vini Jr for 2024 Ballon d'Or

While Musiala was economical with his response, Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti, was clear with his answer to that same question.

According to the veteran Italian manager, no one deserves the Ballon d'Or award more than Vinicius Jr., as Sports Brief reported.
