French captain, Kylian Mbappe, has aimed a subtle jibe at Paris Saint-Germain following his transfer to Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old finally completed his much-talked-about move to Los Blancos after he was announced as the club's latest Galactico.

Mbappe joins the Spanish giants on a five-year contract, 48 hours after they crowned a stellar campaign with a record-extending 15th Champions League at Wembley.

Before sealing his dream move to Madrid, Mbappe, PSG's all-time leading goal scorer, refused to sign a year's extension to his contract last August, per the BBC.

This led to a standoff that saw him train away from the first team until he was reinstated.

It comes as no surprise that the 2018 World Cup winner's final year with the club left a bitter taste in his mouth, and on Tuesday, June 4, he appeared to aim a dig at his former employers.

Speaking on his move to Madrid, Mbappe said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, “I feel relieved."

Despite admitting he has been humbled by the opportunity to complete his switch to the reigning Spanish and European champions, he also poked fun at PSG with his description of Madrid.

"I arrive at Real Madrid with a lot of humbleness; it’s the biggest club in the world.”

He was also quick to appreciate the role of the club president, Florentino Perez.

“I want to thank President Florentino Pérez. He trusted me from day one.”

How Mbappe was 'saved' from PSG exile?

Kylian Mbappe recently revealed that Luis Enrique and Luis Campos played a pivotal role in his transfer to Real Madrid, rescuing him from a precarious situation at PSG during the final season of his contract, as reported by Sports Brief.

In his first public statement since signing a five-year deal, Mbappe disclosed that PSG had bluntly informed him of his exclusion from the team.

The seriousness of the situation became evident when PSG not only omitted the French captain from their preseason squad but also barred him from accessing the club's training facilities.
