Mbappe signed a five-year deal with the Spanish club, who did not have to pay any transfer fees for the 25-year-old’s services since he left PSG on a free transfer.

However, the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners will have to brace themselves for a hefty wage and other financial benefits the Frenchman is set to enjoy for signing with them.

Details of Kylian Mbappe’s contract

According to AS, Mbappe will earn a reported £12.8 million per season at Real Madrid, which is considerably lower than the £21.4 million annual salary he used to get in Paris.

Despite the pay cut, the Frenchman remains one of Los Blancos' top earners, above David Alaba (€12.5mil) Vinicius Junior (€12mil), Luka Modric (€11.5mil), and Jude Bellingham (€11mil).

The sweet spot in Mbappe’s Real Madrid signing is his humongous signing on fee, which reportedly stands at £85.6mil across the course of his five years in the Spanish capital.

He will also retain 80% share of image rights on any new commercial deals he signs as a Real Madrid player, which is different from the typical 50-50 split the club imposes on new players.

Mbappe’s wages compared to Premier League stars

To put Mbappe’s Real Madrid wages to perspective, Sports Brief compared them to some of the Premier League’s highest earners.

At least 10 stars in English top flight are on a heftier wage than the former Monaco star’s £250,000-per-week.

Here are some of the Premier League stars with a higher wage than Mbappe, according to Sportac:

Mbappe on how PSG 'exiled' him

Elsewhere, Sports Brief also recently reported on Mbappe claiming PSG attempted to freeze him out of the Ligue 1 champions' first team.

Speaking for the first time since signing a five-year contract with Real Madrid, he claimed the French club told him he would not play again.

The Parisians made true their threat when they excluded Mbappe from their preseason team and prohibited him from their training facility.
