As noted by FARPost, Baroka FC decided to suspend the 58-year-old for the duration of the relegation/ promotion playoffs.

Baroka are competing in the playoffs alongside University of Pretoria and Richards Bay but kicked off the campaign with a defeat.

Malesela was also sacked twice by the Rockets, with his second dismissal coming in 2020.

He led them to the Nedbank Cup title the previous year but was sacked after a single win in eight games the following season.

In 2022, he learned from his neighbour that Gallants would not renew his contract.

Malesela explained that he spoke to his manager after hearing from a neighbour and discovered that the club would not retain his services.
