The latest to share his opinion on the crucial match is Hugo Broos. The Bafana Bafana coach expressed his worry about his side’s goalscoring problems, alongside hinting at a subtle plan he has in store for the Nigerian team.

Broos speaks on South Africa's fixture vs Nigeria

In an interview as captured by FarPost, the septuagenarian coach touched on the goalscoring issues his team currently faces, and subtly explained how his side can defeat the Super Eagles.

“I think our problem might be that we don’t have those natural goal-scorers. We are looking at a situation from two or three years ago, and it’s not easy to address."

Speaking further on his team’s approach to the fixture against Nigeria, the former Cameroon manager stressed:

“We will try to shock them again. It’s a little bit different than the team we faced in AFCON. With Finidi George, they have a coach who thinks more offensively. Jose Peseiro was more defensive, as I saw in the game against us. He was always instructing the team to fall back.”
…But I’ve seen two games against Mali and Ghana, and it’s different now. They take more initiative. They’re no longer the team that falls back and waits.”

Broos' Bafana Bafana team, who have scored just 15 goals in their last 17 outings, per data courtesy of FotMob, will rely heavily on both Lyle Foster and Iqraam Rayners to secure a victory against the Super Eagles.

Nwabali speaks on South Africa clash

Sports Brief in another report stated Nigeria goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, discussed why he believes the Super Eagles will triumph over South Africa.

The 27-year-old highlighted the significant gulf in quality between the two teams as a major factor in Nigeria's favour.
