Kaizer Chiefs target, Pitso Mosimane, ended his deal with Abha Club after the team were relegated from the Saudi Pro League this season after a final-day loss.

The South African manager couldn't meet his contract goal of keeping the Leaders of the South in the Saudi top flight, thanks to the result against already-relegated Al Hazm.

After the match, the former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor confirmed that his contract with the club had ended and added that he was seeking a new challenge.

According to a report by the South African, Mosimane's deal ended not just because Abha were relegated from the Saudi Pro League, but also because the club could not afford his financial demands.

According to a statement by a South African publication, KickOff.com, the Leaders of South would have a tighter budget in the first division and Mosimane simply could not fit into their plans.

"According to a well-placed source, the reason the Leaders of the South would not go down with 'Jingles' is purely based on his financial demands, as the club would not be able to afford his services, given the tight budget in the First Division," the South African media outlet said.

The former Al Ahly coach was recently linked with Kaizer Chiefs' vacant managerial role but could miss out on the job, as Amakhosi are seemingly pitching their tent with Tunisian gaffer, Nasreddine Nabi.

Mosimane's agent spotted at Kaizer Chiefs village

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mosimane's wife and agent, Moira Tlhagale, was spotted at the Chiefs village in Naturena, sparking rumours a deal could be struck to bring the legendary coach back to South Africa.

Reports suggested Jingles' spouse had held meetings with the Amakhosi management over a move back to the DStv Premiership, but nothing has been confirmed by the South African club or Mosimane's handlers yet.
