In the 2023/24 season, Amakhosi finished 10th in the table following a humiliating defeat on May 25 against already-relegated Cape Town Spurs.
Former Chiefs captain, Tefu Mashamaite, recently said the club needs to correct one problem, which could give them a chance to compete again.
Chiefs finished 10th in the PSL with 36 points, with nine wins, nine draws, and 13 defeats. Their loss against second-tier side, Milford FC, in the Nedbank Cup was a perfect example of how far they've fallen.

The last time they won a trophy was in 2015. Mashamaite controversially said Chiefs players are not the issue but the culture at the club.
"In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the players," he said via KickOff.
"You get [Sibongiseni] Mthethwa he was playing well at Stellenbosch. You get Du Preez he was playing well at Stellenbosch. You have Given Msimango, he was playing well at TS Galaxy," he said.
"I think it's just a matter of creating a culture of winning mentality when those get get introduced at Naturena."
The Glamour Boys are looking for a new permanent coach to lead the team in the 2024/25 season. Pitso Mosimane, Florent Ibenge, and Alexandre Santos have been linked with the job.
