Los Blancos secured the Spanish top-flight title after an incredible run that saw them end the season with 95 points, 10 points above rivals Barcelona, who finished second.

The Santiago Bernabeu-based outfit capped off their impressive campaign by winning the Champions League on Saturday evening, June 1.

Ancelotti's charges edged Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the final, with Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr getting the job done at Wembley Stadium.

According to CNN, the victory saw Real record their record-extending 15th European triumph.

Ancelotti backs Vinicius Jr to win Ballon d'Or

While Jude Bellingham has been touted as one of the favourites to win the Ballon d'Or after a dream debut at Santiago Bernabeu, Ancelotti believes otherwise.

According to the veteran Italian boss, no one deserves the prize more than Vinicius Jr.

Speaking after the Champions League final, Ancelotti said, per Fabrizio Romano:

“Vini Jr deserves the Ballon d’Or. I’ve no doubts."

Vini Jr has equally been impressive for Real this season, scoring 15 La Liga goals and a further six in the Champions League.

However, the Brazilian is sure to face stiff competition from Bellingham in his hope of winning one of football's most prestigious individual honours.

Kylian Mbappe is also in the frame to challenge for the award after an amazing final season with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Frenchman is predicted to join Real in the summer after he called time on his spell at Parc des Princess.

Vini matches Lionel Messi record

Earlier, Sports Brief also reported on Vini Jr. had matching Lionel Messi's incredible record in the Champions League.

The Brazilian ace joined the elite club after his goal against Borussia Dortmund.
