Tunisian manager, Nasreddine Nabi, is reportedly close to joining Kaizer Chiefs as their new permanent coach, but he initially rejected Amakhosi's first offer last year.

Nabi is set to edge out Pitso Mosimane and Alexandre Santos in the race to be appointed the Chiefs' new coach.

The former Yanga SC manager turned down the Soweto giants' approach last year before the start of the season, with the Glamour Boys opting for Molefi Ntseki, who was later sacked.

The Tunisian tactician joined AS FAR Rabat months later, but he is back on Kaizer Chiefs' radar, and his close to reaching an agreement with the club.

According to a report by the South African, Nabi disclosed why he rejected the Chiefs' first offer last year before joining Moroccan giants, AS FAR.

"I wanted Kaizer Chiefs to give me a chance to come with at least two members of my technical team who will help me," the Tunisian coach stated.
"However, they told me they have individuals with running contracts, and firing them will be expensive.
"It became a challenge for me to agree. I realized they cannot help me, and I decided to leave them alone."

Nabi is on course to win the Botola Pro League with AS FAR Rabat but needs to be fully focused in their last two games as they are just one point ahead of Raja Casablanca in the standings.

Mosimane's agent visits Chiefs' village

Sports Brief reported how Mosimane’s agent was reportedly spotted at Chiefs' Naturena village.

Mosimane is effectively a free agent since his contract expired at Saudi Pro League side, Abha Club.

The South African tactician has been linked with the Amakhosi and previously expressed interest in them.
