Nedbank Cup top goalscorer

1. Tshegofatso Mabasa

The Orlando Pirates striker won the Golden Boot in the DStv Premiership, and he's the favourite to win the top scorer award in the Nedbank Cup.

Like other players, Mabasa has found the back of the net thrice, and a goal against Sundowns in the final could put him above his competitors.

2. Gaston Sirino

Sirino is not the only Sundowns player with three goals, but he is the only one of the two who will feature in the final.

Thembinkosi Lorch will not only miss the chance to face his former team in the Nedbank final, but he will also miss the opportunity to increase his goal tally in the tournament.

3. Patrick Maswanganyi

Maswanganyi also has three goals, which he achieved in four games. He is one of the players to watch out for in the final.

The South African forward has a good chance of snatching the top goalscorer award, with Tapelo Xoki being ruled out of the final.

Mokwena confirms Lorch’s absence

Sports Brief earlier reported that Rulani Mokwena confirmed the absence of Lorch in the final of the Nedbank Cup.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder was ruled out of the game due to injury, with many fans initially looking forward to him facing his old employees.
