One of the less-looked at subplots in the just concluded Euros is the fact that some England stars are still searching for that elusive piece of silverware.
Defeat to Italy in the final meant that England star Harry Kane is still yet to taste some silverware glory, which is quite unfortunate when one looks at his numbers as a player.
Not only is Kane Tottenham’s record goalscorer, but he has also morphed into one of the most lethal strikers in the modern game.

Jose Mourinho’s tenure with the North London club also unlocked a new element to Kane’s game - assisting.
However, despite all the individual accolades that he has garnered over the years, trophies just do not seem to fancy Harry Kane very much.
Here are several incidences where Kane narrowly missed out on what could have been a stellar campaign as far as silverware is concerned.
1. Carabao Cup final 2015
The Carabao cup final in 2015 was one which placed Chelsea against Tottenham Hotspur, and was the Blues who came out on top thanks to goals from John Terry and Diego Costa.

In 2017, Spurs were once again on a roll, this time in the FA Cup, and were tipped to win the competition after a superb run.
Despite going 1-0 up in the semis, the North London side once again capitulated against Manchester United to lose the game 2-1.

4. Knocked out of World Cup semis in 2018 after going 1-0 up
On the international front, Kane tasted his first disappointment in the World Cuo when his England side blew their best chance to make the World cup final.

The Carabao Cup final in April provided for the perfect chance for Kane to get his first silverware for Spurs as they came up against Manchester City.
