Borussia Dortmund have received the 'best advice' on how to stop Real Madrid pair Vinicius Junior and Toni Kroos ahead of the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, June 1.

However, standing in their path to glory are the competition’s record holders, Real Madrid, who are set to play in their unprecedented 18th UCL final.

Dortmund came in as underdogs

Dortmund were not widely tipped to reach the grand finale, but after impressive victories over PSV Eindhoven, Atletico Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain, they have a chance to complete their journey with a title.

Nonetheless, the Spanish champions, unbeaten in their last eight Champions League finals, boast a pedigree and quality that arguably surpass all the teams Dortmund has faced en route to the final.

Among Madrid’s key players are the experienced Toni Kroos, a five-time UCL winner, and the dynamic Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior. Both have been integral to Carlo Ancelotti’s game plan in Europe.

Their devastating performance in the semi-final against Bayern Munich saw Kroos deliver a defence-splitting pass that Vinicius converted with ease past Manuel Neuer, talkSPORT reports.

How to silence Toni Kroos, Vinicius

Dortmund’s coach, Edin Terzic, must devise a strategy to contain Vini Jr. and Kroos to stand a chance of pulling off an upset.

In anticipation of the final, RB Leipzig forward Yussuf Poulsen shared valuable advice with the Bundesliga outfit on how to tackle Real Madrid.

Poulsen, who faced Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16, emphasised the importance of maintaining a strong defence, especially against players of Vini's calibre.

“It has to be done because players like Vinicius Junior have to be defended with double assists in many situations,” he said, as cited by Madrid Universal.
The Danish forward added: “The best thing would be to mark Toni Kroos. BVB have to be, so to speak, attentive to Toni.
“The best thing is to constantly cover his right foot so he cannot make his brilliant deep passes."

Mbappe reveals club he will support in UCL final

Sports Brief also reported that Kylian Mbappe has disclosed which club between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund he will be rallying behind during this season's Champions League final.

The Frenchman, who is expected to join Madrid in the summer, gave a rather diplomatic response when asked which team he would support.
