Kaizer Chiefs had an underwhelming season in the league and are looking to restore their standard next campaign; however, they need several good additions this summer.

The Soweto Giants' focus is on appointing a permanent coach, but they need new players who could make the incoming manager's job easier.

Several players have been linked with Chiefs, but Sports Brief outlines the five players Amakhosi should sign this summer ahead of the next season.

Players Kaizer Chiefs should sign this summer

1. Lebogang Mothiba

The South African international is one of the transfer market's free agents after being released by French Ligue 1 outfit RC Strasbourg.

The former Lille star spent six years with the French side, winning the League Cup in 2019, but the club won't be renewing his contract, which ends on June 30.

Kaizer Chiefs need to pounce on Mothiba's signing as they need more experience in the squad next season and would be a good addition for the incoming new coach.

2. Stanley Nwabali

The Nigerian international has been on the Glamour Boys' radar since his stellar performance for the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Nwabali is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier Soccer League and would be a perfect replacement for the outgoing Itumeleng Khune.

The only issue Chiefs would have in signing the Super Eagles goalkeeper from Chippa United is the price tag the Chilli Boys placed on him.

3. Oswin Appollis

Appollis had an incredible season with Polokwane City, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 31 appearances.

The 22-year-old's performance this campaign earned him a call-up to the South African national team and attracted interest from PSL clubs.

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly facing stiff competition from AmaZulu FC for the signature of the Bafana Bafana star.

4. Jayden Adams

The Stellenbosch star is one of the best young players in the DStv Premiership, and he's an essential figure in Stellies' fantastic performance in the league this season.

Adams can play as a midfielder and a winger, which is an excellent advantage for any team with him in their squad.

Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly the favourite team to sign him this summer, but Amakhosi could join the race as they need him more than the Brazilians.

5. Rushwin Dortley

Cape Town Spurs defender Dortley will also be an exciting addition to the Kaizer Chiefs squad next season.

The South African youngster is a versatile defender who can play as a centre-back in a back three or a left fullback.

Edmilson Dove needs fresh competition, and the Spurs defender is a perfect fit for the Soweto Giants team.

Mosimane's agent visits Chiefs' village

Sports Brief earlier reported that Pitso Mosimane’s agent was reportedly spotted at Chiefs' Naturena village.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns manager is effectively a free agent since his contract expired at Saudi Pro League side, Abha Club.
