The 59-year-old surprised many in June 2022 when he announced that he was leaving the club. He left after 97 games in charge, only losing 10 and averaging 2.24 points per game, per iDiski Times.
Fouad revisited a moment where the South African had some strong words for him after a friendly game.
"One time I participated in a friendly match and I was surprised at the end of the match by Mosimane telling me. 'You frustrated me, and I thought you were better than that. You are good, young player and you have strength and effort but you lack quality and technical matters," the 24-year-old winger said via KickOff.
Fouad added that Mosimane's constant criticism got to him.
"Mosimane continued to deal with me on this basis throughout the season, which caused me to go through a difficult psychological period that almost destroyed me. I avoided talking about football with anyone and after his departure from Al Ahly, it was a new beginning for me."
Fouad has been a regular at the club since joining in 2021. He has made 23 appearances in the 2023/24 season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
